Thank you for the opportunity

Hey good people, :)

Hope you have been keeping well.  So today am just musing on how many times I have used this phrase in the last few months of 2018. Seems like saying no is becoming as natural as saying yes since I was such a yes person. :)

A job that isn't line with my goals and future aspirations... Thank you for the opportunity...

A job that  will make me feel used..... Thank you for the opportunity...

A friendship that is one sided....Thank you for the opportunity...

An invite that was made last minute like an after thought.... Thank you for the opportunity..

I smell any negative vibe... Thank you for the opportunity...

Sitting to gossip and judge others.... Thank you for the opportunity...

I want to stay indoors and not accept an invite.. Self care= Self love and sometimes is necessary.Thank you for the opportunity

I cant afford something.... Thank you for the opportunity... am done people pleasing.... You think whatever you want to think..

Toxic person / Environment... Thank you for the opportunity...

"When you know better, do better", wise words from Ms. Oprah Winfrey.

Thank you for the opportunity :) #NO!

Cheers!!!

Aunty Jane :)

Hey good people,

I guess consistency is not in my vocabulary lately *hides* but there is a reason and a very good one at that :) anyway glad to be back. I also believe in writing when you have something to say is that wrong? I guess not..

Anyway, lets dive in. I think everyone needs an Aunty Jane kind of friend in their life. You see my Aunty Jane is not my biological Aunty but a very good close friend of my mum she has been for
 over 30 years.

You see my Aunty Jane is very stylish has class and has an even bigger heart. She still looks like she is in her 30's if not her 20's. :)

I love her to bits, you see Aunty Jane was my mum's best maid during her wedding even before I was born ( be sure am not mentioning my age:)) and she has remained a true and steadfast friend through the years. She has been a friend  to my mother through all the seasons as life sure has its hills and valleys.  Instead of drawing further away as most people do during difficult seasons she drew closer to us and embraced us with her love.Without getting into too many details, not even about her relationship with my mum but my relationship with her which she was soo intentional about. Thank you Aunty Jane :)

Aunty Jane is the kind of lady that when I was abroad, she had a layover of a few hours at an airport where I was staying and she contacted me before coming just to inform me that she would be coming and she would love to see me.It didn't happen as her layover was short and I was working the night shift that particular day. But the thought really count.

Aunty Jane is still the one who looked for someone in that city to ensure that I am comfortable and well taken care of in case of any emergency since I knew no one there. You see she didn't have to but she did and my mum didn't even ask her to do so. It was out of her free will. All the times I have been unemployed Aunty Jane has been my biggest cheerleader trying to get hold of all her contacts to see if there is any opportunity available for me. She doesn't ask  for my C.V for the sake of it no.. She is very intentional. I cant even begin getting into deeper details of what she has done lately but I surely hope that God will bless her as she blesses others :)

She really challenges me in my friendships. I really hope I can emulate her. Do you have an Aunty Jane kind of friend in your life can you challenge yourself to be a friend to be like her?

Love and Light,

Miss Wainaina.

What are you agreeing with

Hey!!!

Hope you are all keeping well. I am its been an interesting couple of months story for another day.

I just wanted to find out  what voices do you agree with? who do you agree with? What do you agree with?why do you agree with them?

It's so easy to lose yourself  listening to the outer voices rather than listening to your heart. Listen to your heart  and do that which is right by you.

SO what do you do when you are in this place? Pray perhaps, keep getting in your way, talk to a friend maybe? Yea I totally get it... mine is just simple as hard as it may try and get out of your way okay? Do whatever it takes to get to where you want to be and yes you deserve to be happy, you deserve your dream job and you deserve more , better and to be respected despite what you did or didn't do and thankfully life gives us second chances and that's what life is about.

Almost 30! :)

Hey good people,

Hope you have been keeping well. Been a while since I was on this platform  anyway lets get the discussions going.  So am almost 30 and so are  most of my peers. :) not like 30 is a disease but anyway life is moving pretty fast to say the least.

Am in one of my campus groups and some guys are always like lets just mix and match here cause the pressure is real people getting married  having baby number two  and for some of us not having met someone yet leave alone planning something long term  the jungle has all sorts of people you know :) and what you want and desire is not what everyone wants everyone seems to have their own intentions blessed are those that met their matches while in campus or along the road and are still going strong. We shall get there. I bet there are still challenges in those relationships yes? Some work some don.t right?

Then there is work and investments You start seeing your peers secure big positions the cars grow bigger as well. Maybe you are still in an unstable work place with the economy set up in our beloved home country and you are like Jesus just take the wheel. Or you start thinking where is there a balance between passion and money  like where is the line you do something that you love and make less money or stay at a job you don't like and make all the money in the world for the lucky they find both a job that they like and money combined.

You start looking back at what you have invested in and where your priorities lied when you were younger and you realize all the decisions you made consciously or unconsciously have led you to where you are today.

I guess there is no timeline to anyone's life  just as long as you put one foot in front of the other doing what you love things fall in place at some point at the right time so long as you keep your head above the water and trust the process and your attitude is everything..

Just my random musings more to come would love to hear your thoughts  and if you are past this stage how did you get by? Please share. Asante!

Love and love

Trust the proocess

Howdy!

Hey people! Hope you have been keeping well. These streets have been very quiet. Maybe that's because there's been so many transitions and changes :) which am very thankful for.

Are there times when things are going great and then somethings from your past keep nagging you at the back of your mind? either failed relationships, mistakes from your past, past failures that sometimes can even be a hindrance to your progress? Well, I have a had a couple of those moments and being in my mid 20's they are so rampant with the uncertainty of the future in this ever changing world.

I am learning to embrace the past failures as a learning process and slowly learning that it's all about your mindset. Life is responding, so if you are like me  still trying to figure out things hold on, change your mind set it gets better from here.

Love and light,
Miss Wainaina
