What they dont tell you about your 20's

Hi people,

Its been a minute.. Time is really flying just wanted to share some of the lessons I have learnt from my 20's. These are my 2 cents opinions so you don't have to necessarily agree.

1. Those years literally fly.... I was 20 some years back and my oh my has time flown.

2. Travel, see your country/ world its good to be away from the norm. It has an effect I just cant put it in words (hahaha!) but its a good feeling it somehow renews your strength and broadens your mind.

3. Spend time with small kids under 5. These kids spread so much joy and they have a way of spreading it. You will also learn a thing or 2.

4. Spend time with older people. Sometimes getting advise from our folks can be monotonous and irritating (I know am speaking for the masses) cause they think they know whats best for us but sometimes its good to experiment and just make your own mistakes. Its a conflict of  interests so to speak. Its good to just get other wise older people to talk to and mentor you.

 5. Drinking alcohol is not bad. Its the things you do when you're drunk that makes it bad or even how much you spend on it.(For me the math dint make sense so I opted out) again does it add value?
(well it dint for me in fact it subtracted a lot of things soo I opted for stronger stuff like Jesus lol!)

and also the quantities I think ( I do wine once in a while which reminds me I don't mind a bottle of wine as a gift for my birthday lol! )

6.You will fall in and out of love... (this isn't for everyone) but you don't have to settle for anything less than you deserve.Actually the early 20's are a really good time to discover yourself and make yourself the one.

 7. Volunteer. This is the most fulfilling thing you can do. Giving back feels amazing try it and if you need ideas please get in touch. I have  small projects coming up.

8.Invest and Save. Yea imagine its important. A pal of mine is always laughing at the way am always saying that am saving yet my bank account disagrees hahaha!! but its important to do so ( there could be rainy days or a time when you will need it. ) Also we are already grown up so there is nothing like  " when I grow up I will do this or that" the time is now.

9. Network. Meet new people and keep their contacts you never know how they may help you despite their position now.

10.Family. Make some time for these precious constants in your life.

11.God. Try and make him number one create a relationship with this guy you can never go wrong. This should actually be number one.

12.Dont give up. You may not be where you want to be but time changes a lot of things so keep trying.

13. Study. Education is one of the most important things. You educate yourself , you empower yourself.

14. Read book/ blogs/journals / magazines. Anything that makes you happy its a good recreational activity broadens your vocabulary and improves your writing especially for this "xaxa"generation. That xaxa thing by the way is very irritating and annoying .

15.Adventure. Try new things don't be afraid just do it. It will be worth while and you have nothing to lose :)

16. Write your goals and dreams and keep refferring to them to see the progress you  are making.
You can also break down your goals. ( yes its cliche but actually doing it works.)

Thanks for taking time to read.

Yours Truly,
Miss Wainaina :)
